What is verification and how long will it take?
The U.S. Department of Education requires schools participating in federal student aid programs to verify information submitted on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
If you are selected for verification, you will be notified through your MIX email in your WVU Portal that you have unsatisfied requirements. Students selected for verification will be notified via their MIX email that they have unsatisfied requirements on their STAR account. If you’re selected, the verification process must be completed before WVU can award or disburse financial aid.
