Activating your WVU student email

After you are admitted to WVU, you will receive an email from Okta with instructions for activating your MIX Gmail email account. This message is sent to the email address you used on your application and should arrive within 2 hours of your WVU acceptance message.

Open the Okta email and follow the instructions to activate your WVU Login.

Then visit WVU Portal and sign in using your WVU Login.

If you have problems activating or accessing your account, call the IT Service Desk at 304-293-4444 or 877-327-9260.

The WVU student email system is integrated with Google Mail (Gmail). All MIX email addresses end in @mix.wvu.edu.

Changing your password

Follow these instructions to change or reset your WVU Login password. If you encounter any problems, contact the IT Service Desk at ITSHelp@mail.wvu.edu or 304-293-4444.
