Restaurant Management

The primary objective of this course is to provide knowledge to lead a restaurant or food and beverage management operation.
Hotel Operations Management
HTOR 472
The primary objective of this course focuses on operational, financial, and maintenance procedures for Hotel Management. In-class activities, industry professionals, and experiential assignments introduce students to the day-to-day operations of each department in a hotel and allow students to understand what seasoned managers do.
Hospitality Social Customer Relationship Management
HTOR 473
This course focuses on identifying hospitality industry best practices in building and managing a customer base through social media channels. Students will develop innovative engagement strategies to achieve the goals of social customer relationship management.
Hospitality Revenue Management
HTOR 474
This course explores the important role of revenue management in the hospitality industry. It also instructs future hospitality managers how to effectively manage their inventories and prices through revenue management principles and theories.
Honors

Get involved outside the classroom.
Our students work with businesses in the state and region to conduct research projects to explore and examine current or future trends and challenges. They have access to Smith Travel Research share center data and reports, and present their research at the Undergraduate Research Day at the Capitol and WVU undergraduate research symposiums.

Ohio Tuition Reciprocity
As the result of a special agreement, students from Ohio who are fully admitted to Hospitality and Tourism Management can enroll at WVU and pay in-state tuition rates. Students must be admitted to both the University and this major.
