Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship
ENTR 400
The purpose of this course is to help students identify and validate at least one entrepreneurial idea they are passionate about pursuing. Students will learn to apply the latest developments in entrepreneurship theory directly to their own idea, will learn how to generate new entrepreneurial ideas and how to identify and resolve critical assumptions by developing and testing hypotheses.
Entrepreneurial Creativity and Innovation
ENTR 405
This course offers an in-depth study of theories and models of creativity to solve problems and identify opportunities in entrepreneurial business contexts. Students will synthesize their course experiences and develop a set of creative business ideas, which will be incorporated into feasibility assessments, financial analyses, and business plans in subsequent entrepreneurship major courses.
Social Entrepreneurship
ENTR 416
This course will expose students to the topics and concepts in the emerging field of social entrepreneurship. The primary topic - how social entrepreneurs use business models to create sustainable enterprises.
Honors

Get involved outside the classroom.
- Vantage Ventures at Vantage Point is a facility with a strong entrepreneurial culture and easy access to thought leaders throughout the state. It provides a co-working and experiential classroom for students to work with startups.
- This major provides many opportunities for hands-on learning. Students work very closely with the Encova Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship where they function as consultants to local business and industries. Students also compete in business plan competitions, which allows the student to improve presentation skills and teaches them how to “pitch” an idea or product.
- The Morris L. Hayhurst LaunchLab offers guidance and assistance through pitch competitions, grant applications, workshops, and more.
- The Becker Academic Engagement Success Center offers tutoring, including a special supplemental instruction program for students taking introductory business courses. Study groups are led by recent students who were successful in the courses.

Ohio Tuition Reciprocity
As the result of a special agreement, students from Ohio who are fully admitted to Entrepreneurship and Innovation can enroll at WVU and pay in-state tuition rates. Students must be admitted to both the University and this major.
