Computer Engineering Dual Degrees

Students can simultaneously pursue bachelor’s degrees in Computer Engineering and Robotics Engineering.

Students also have the option of simultaneously pursuing 2 bachelor’s degrees in the Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.

Honors

Expand your curiosity and enhance your curriculum through the WVU Honors College. Two programs are offered: Honors Foundations and Honors in Action.

The WVU Difference

What sets this program apart?

  • Faculty includes Dr. Powsiri Klinkhachorn, 2015 West Virginia Professor of the Year.
  • Strong emphasis on student competition teams.
  • The Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.
  • Digital forensics and cybersecurity laboratory co-located with the West Virginia State Police crime lab.

Learn by Doing

Get involved outside the classroom.

Computer Engineering students can take part in the Department of Energy-sponsored EcoCAR Mobility Challenge, which is led by the Department of Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering.

Before graduating, all undergraduates in this major complete an academic project (or “capstone”) to demonstrate their research, communication, and critical thinking skills. Projects have included:

  • Automated greenhouse.
  • Automated sensor system for monitoring water.
  • Development of a self-guided wheelchair.
  • Robotic ball retriever for tennis court.

Careers and Outcomes

How does this degree prepare students for a career?
